Sustained Thermal Relief for the Human Body

IC Bioscience Research (ICBR) is a Dallas, Texas-based biomedical research non-profit dedicated to engineering the next generation of sensory therapeutics to reduce human suffering associated with body heat.  ICBR is developing novel technology that provides biochemical cooling sensation for 8+ hours without systemic risks.

There are significant unmet medical needs that persist across multiple therapeutic areas involving body heat.

Prosthetic Heat Generated in Amputees

For millions of amputees, the interface between the residual limb and a prosthetic socket creates a localized microclimate of extreme heat, friction, and moisture that leads to severe skin breakdown and discomfort.

Current solutions fail to provide sustained thermal regulation. This thermal distress not only reduces prosthetic wear-time and quality of life but also presents a significant medical risk for the millions of individuals with compromised circulation or diabetes.

Global Heat Affecting the Workforce and Family Safety

On a broader scale, global temperatures are rising, with increasing frequency of 100°F+ daytime peaks, straining outdoor work and leisure activities, with billions of dollars in economic loss. Safety is a problem.

Globally, an estimated 2.4 billion workers are exposed to excessive heat (>90°F), resulting in 22.85 million occupational injuries annually.

Employers are investing in wearables to ensure worker safety and compliance with evolving federal heat rules (e.g., OSHA), but products are largely limited to ice packs, cooling vests, and short-lived fever patches, which are effective but bulky, cumbersome, or limited in duration.

Breakthrough Science

ICBR utilizes a proprietary blend of cooling agonists delivered through advanced nano-carrier technology to target the body’s cooling receptors (TRPM8), prevent receptor desensitization, and extend cooling sensation to 8 hours. Unlike traditional cooling methods that lower actual temperature and cause dangerous vasoconstriction, our formulation provides a biochemical sensation of cold while maintaining safe core body temperature.

Amputee Cooling Spray

A high-precision spray formulated for the 2.9 million amputees in the U.S. to address the microclimate of heat and friction within prosthetic sockets. The spray is applied to residual limbs while wearing prosthetic devices to eliminate heat, odor, and excessive sweating. This product prioritizes skin integrity and immediate relief.

Transdermal Cooling Patch

A wearable patch applied to the back of the neck, designed for the broader industrial and outdoor consumer markets to provide central cooling sensation throughout the body for those exposed to enduring heat.

Products will be engineered to have similar formula characteristics

  • Sustained 8-hour cooling sensation
  • No core temperature redution
  • Hypoallergenic and non-irritating
  • Non-odorous and non-toxic

10-Year Vision

Over the next decade, ICBR aims to evolve into a global leader in transdermal sensory therapeutics, leveraging our proprietary TRPM8 nano-delivery platform to revolutionize performance and safety.

We will begin developing a cooling spray, move into a cooling neck patch to address industrial heat stress, and then expand into military and sports sectors while advancing high-impact R&D for non-opioid pain management.

Our sustainable licensing model will fund a global social impact initiative, providing critical heat-protection technology to the world’s most vulnerable populations.

Ultimately, ICBR aims to set the gold standard for human thermal safety and comfort, seamlessly integrating biochemical efficiency into tactical, athletic, and medical environments worldwide.
